Authoritarian Leader -Holds control over group; makes decisions for group members. Good style when decisions must be made quickly--Army, EMT. In regular groups, group members resent authoritarian leaders and don’t cooperate
Laissez-Faire Leader-Does little actual leading. Good for support groups. Most groups need structure and can fall apart without some leadership.
Democratic Leader- Allows all points of view be heard.; keeps discussion on track; lets all members be heard; never tells the group what to do; offers ideas and lets the group react; may suggest directions to take; leader may change. Works best when members are of equal status.
